Cookout

Daddy played in a golf tournament yesterday, so Mom and I met up with him at our friends Doug and Elizabeth's house for a cookout. Unfortunately, Mom only got pictures of me.

They have lots of open area in their back yard, so I was excited to run around.

I was happy to help pick up the balls after yard golf.

Then throw them back on the lawn.

A surprise from Aunt Steph

Mommy and I came home from the grocery store yesterday to find a little box on our front porch with a big surprise inside. Aunt Steph sent Mommy a new camera lens for her birthday! Mommy was super excited because the aperture setting on the lens that came with her camera won't allow the camera lens to open very wide. Since our house is really dark, even on the sunniest day, this meant that Mom could rarely take pictures inside our house without the flash on because she would have to set the shutter speed to be really slow in order get a picture that was bright enough. This does not work well with fast moving objects like myself unless you're going for a REALLY blurry look.

Here are a few pictures that Mom took yesterday. They haven't been edited in Photoshop and Mom was playing around with the white balance settings, but you can tell a huge difference in the lenses.

Summer Job?

Mommy and Daddy got me a new lawn mower at the fair. I was very excited about it and couldn't wait for Daddy to put it together.

Anyone need their lawn mowed? Because this guy can help!

State Fair

Mommy, Daddy and I went to the Indiana State Fair on Saturday afternoon. Although I went last year, I was much more into it this year. And was excited to see all of the animals from my books and Little People set in real life.

I started out small, with this mama cow (I'm sure there's a technical name for this, but Mom isn't that smart when it comes to agriculture...hiefer maybe?).

But quickly I moved to the big guys. It's not so apparent in the picture, but this guy was HUGE!

Next we moved to the draft horse barn. Are all of the animals at the fair enormous?!


Okay, no.


I really liked all of the baby animals too, but by the time we got to this building I was running too fast for Dad to get any more pics.

Of course, we had to stop for a snack, so I could taste the delicious treat that is not only glorious, but a right of passage for any native Hoosier. No silly, not chocolate covered bacon...

...a dairy bar milkshake! However, chocolate covered bacon is one of those lovely delicacies that one can only find at the Indiana State Fair. We Hoosiers are so classy.

They had an area that was just for kids like me where you had to follow a path and collect various items in a basket that you then take to the market at the end. Unfortunately, it was a bit too long for my attention span and I was out by activity #3. I would rather run around the grass.

I did enjoy the tractor ride portion of the path. Only little tikes like me were allowed.

We went to the 4H building for some fun activities (and air conditioning!). They had a giant shape sorter, on which I, of course, was an expert.

Future 4H champ? Doubtful. But if they require their heads to fit the hole in this cutout, I'm well on my way.

By the time we left, I was tuckered. This pic was taken post meltdown after having to get in my stroller. See you next year animals!

Got Milk?

Sleepover at Grandma & Grandpa's

Mommy and Daddy went to an out-of-town wedding on Saturday night, so I got to spend the night at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Grandma of course thought it was necessary to buy me some new toys. Because the 500 other toys for me to play with at her house aren't enough.

In addition to the numerous toys she also lets me play on the computer, which I call the "tee dee" (TV). Mommy doesn't let me do this at home.

And I go for rides on the rocker.

My favorite thing to do, though, is going outside and playing on the swingset. I had so much fun over there that when Mom came to get me, I reached for Grandma instead. Grandma didn't mind, but Mom's feelings were just a little bit hurt.

Food Fight

Daddy's started teaching me bad habits at a young age. The dogs don't seem to mind though.
