Brrrrrr!

In typical midwestern fashion it has turned from summer to winter overnight, so Mom and I went out Sunday to get me a new hat.

How precious am I?

Carving Pumpkins

On Sunday Mom, Dad, and I decided that it was finally time to turn our lovely family of pumpkins into a lovely family of jack-o-lanterns.

Mom and Dad took care of the carving part. Knives and babies don't mix well.

Here's Mom hard at work on her Mom-o-Lantern.

I supervised. Keep it up guys.

Here's the finished product. Mom will try and get a better picture when it's dark out and the lantern family is all lit up (with lights, of course).

No Longer a Heathen!

Today was a big day...I celebrated my baptism! Mom will post pics of the actual event when Aunt Katie or Nana send them (hint, hint!). In the meantime, here are some pics after the service. Don't I look angelic in white?!

After the service, we all came back to my house and had lunch (pureed sweet potatoes and apples for me, sandwiches for the rest).

I was too busy with my sippy to be bothered for a picture.

I even got a cake, although I wasn't actually allowed to eat it.
Then we opened my presents. Mom helped, and I watched.

Chip, Katie, and Caroline got me the gift in this pretty blue box. Mommy said that this particular type of blue box is very special, and I should take note. When I'm older all of the ladies in my life will really appreciate any gift that comes in a box like this.

Wow, I can see why it is special. This bubble wrap stuff is really cool.

Then Mom informed me that this is my gift (it's a ceramic baseball piggy bank...Jesus must have loved baseball). I like it too, but it doesn't make popping noises when I smack it.

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday was Mommy and Daddy's fourth wedding anniversary. They're going out to a fanct dinner to celebrate at a later date (I will not be included). However, they thought it would be a good idea if we all went out to dinner to celebrate on the actual date; I thought differently. This is me in my high chair about 5 minutes before I decided it was time to leave. Needless to say, Mom and Dad ended up eating carry out. I always get my way. :)

Six Month Pics

Mommy took me to get my six month pics and pics with my cousins, Max and Katie, on Friday. Surprisingly, I hammed it up for the camera.

Pool Party

After my doctor's appointment, Mom and I met up with my cousins, Max and Katie, to go swimming. We went to a pool that's made just for small fries like me. They had lots of fountains, slides, and other fun stuff that I'm still too small for, so I just stuck to the fountains. I kept trying to pick it up and couldn't understand why I couldn't grab it. (Sidenote: please ignore mom's pasty white legs. I'm not allowed to be in the pool by myself, so she was required to be in the picture...unfortunately. Hopefully no one goes blind due to the glare coming off those things).

Katie's a champ at swimming. She tried to show me how to do it, but I couldn't keep up.

I love the water so much I actually smiled for the camera.

I kicked my way all around the pool. I am going to be a champ at swim lessons in a few weeks.

6 Month Check-up

I went to the doctor for my six month check up today, and she said I'm a very healthy growing boy! Here are my stats to prove it:
  • Weight: 17 lbs., 0 oz. (just below 50th percentile)
  • Height: 26 1/2 inches (62nd percentile)
  • Head circumference: 17 3/4 inches (90th percentile) - who says I don't take after my dad?

The doc says that I should also start working on using my sippy cup and can try other foods (including some finger foods). With the way I like to eat, I don't think that will be a problem. I'll have to keep you informed of my progress.

By the way, the picture above has nothing to do with my six month check up. Mom just feels the need to put at least one picture on every blog, relevant or not. This one was taken on Sunday night when I went to dinner with my cousins. See what a big boy I am using the restaurant high chair?!

Pumpkin Patch

I went on my first trip to the pumpkin patch this morning. Mom and Dad tried to explain it to me, but I didn't quite get it. So we pick big orange vegetables, carve funny faces in them, and then light them with candles? Huh. I went along with it anyway, since there was a lot of good people watching to do at the patch.

We got mommy, daddy, and baby pumpkins. Here I am with my baby pumpkin. I'll have to post more pics after I carve it.

Happy Half-Birthday to Me!

At 6:37 p.m. today, it was official...I'm six months old. As usual, Mom tried to take pictures to mark the occasion, and, as usual, I decided to be uncooperative and sport my Chandler face for the camera. Here's what she got before giving up:

Giggles

It's bananas, b-a-n-a-n-a-s

Now that I'm six months old, I get to eat real food (aka, strained fruits and veggies). I got my very first taste of bananas on Sunday. As you can tell by the footage I had no complaints.

Lucky Charm

I was a little nervous to wear my Colts jersey on Sunday after the debacle with my Cubs outfit last week. However, it turns out that I'm good luck after all.

Baby Party

We hosted a Halloween baby shower for the Meneely's on Saturday, and no Halloween-themed party is complete without costumes.

Aren't I the cutest monkey you've ever seen?
Can you tell who I get my good looks from? Unfortunately, the monkey costumes were a little hot, so they didn't last too long.

The guests of honor.

Rocker in the making

Mommy and daddy's friends, Justin and Mandy, had a wedding in Indy this weekend, so they stayed at our house. Justin gave me my first guitar lesson. I was a very good study...do we have a future rocker on our hands? I think so.

Go Cubs Go!

Daddy was very sad today after the unfortunate loss of the Cubbies last night to the Dodgers, so I thought I'd cheer him up by putting on one of my Cubs outfits. It worked, but it made Mommy sad because I was swimming in this outfit just a few short months ago. She told me to stop growing up so fast.
Hopefully I'll be the lucky charm that the Cubbies need to win tonight!
