Vrooomm

Mommy, Daddy and I met Grandma and Grandpa for dinner at a neighborhood restaurant last night. I started to get a bit restless, so Mom took me for a walk, where I quickly discovered the video game area. Given my love of all things cars, Mom was not at all surprised when I fell in love with the car game.

She called Daddy over to come join me. I had to show him the ropes.

I was having so much fun pretending to drive, Dad thought it would be fun to actually play the game and let me drive. Unfortunately, it freaked me out a bit when the car started going on the screen, so I bailed on him. Sorry Daddy!

Too cute to not post

Mommy found this video on the camera today from a while back. Even though it's over a month old, she thought it was too cute not to post.

Are you ready for some football?

Last Sunday Mommy, Daddy, and I went over to the Lowey's house to watch football.  At first I thought we were watching it live because the players looked SO big in their gigantic TV.

Once I got over the initial shock of the huge TV, I sat back and watched some football with the guys.

I also entertained myself by dipping veggies; however, I was NOT willing to eat them.  Jeremy was brave and offered to help though.

Jake hung out and watched the game too.

After a while I couldn't sit still, so Daisy and I played with some of Jake's big kid toys.  She's a good puppy and actually plays with me, unlike some puppies I know.

Nana's Barber Shop

After Mommy's failed attempt at cutting my hair (she claims that the back is completely even, with the exception of the small chunk that was missing from the middle), Nana agreed to give me a quick trim when she was visiting last weekend.  I behaved MUCH better than I did during my last trip to the barber shop.

Head, shoulders, knees and toes!

I've been able to identify my body parts for quite a while, but Mom hasn't been able to catch it on video...until today. As you can see, I still get a bit mixed up sometimes though!

First Sentence

I said my first sentence last night. Daddy was leaving the house, and I said "Bye-bye, Daddy!" I'm a genius, I tell you, a genius!

Lil' Thug

Mom and I were getting ready for my bath last night (hence my topless state) and I found a hat in my closet that I had won at the state fair. In true toddler fashion I had a complete reversal of my usual attitude towards hats and begged Mom to put it on me.
Mom thought it made me look like a little thug with my saggy pants. (Note: Mom does not intentionally dress me in saggy pants, but even 12 month pants don't stay up around my waist because I'm too skinny. I know, the cheeks are deceiving, but I really am.)

After I took the hat off I got upset because I couldn't quite get it back on myself. Unfortunately, this new love of hat wearing has arrived just in time for fall, when hats are pretty unecessary. Don't worry though, I'm sure I'll grow out of this phase just in time for summer.

Labor Day Weekend - Part II

On the Sunday of Labor Day weekend the Hunts came over to Nana and Poppy's house for a cookout. Aunt Katie got Caroline and I these cute shirts for the occasion that say "What happens at Nana and Poppy's house stays at Nana and Poppy's house."

Showing off my cute tee with my best baby model pose. Unfortunately, I threw up all over it about five minutes after this pic was taken.
We had lots of fun playing as usual. The Hunts played a little badminton.
Given my lack of hand-eye coordination at this stage in life, I chose to observe. Mom appreciated the three minutes of down time it gave her. Unfortunately, however, the down time didn't last long, and she spent the rest of the evening chasing me around....hence the lack of additional pictures from the evening. Thankfully, Aunt Katie got a few more:

Labor Day Weekend - Part I

Mommy, Daddy and I went to Terre Haute for Labor Day weekend because my cousin, Caroline, was in town with her mommy and daddy. We didn't waste any time getting to playing. Caroline's a big girl and can ride a big girl bike. Me, I just stuck to pushing the strollers.

Hey, wait up guys!!

Much better!

Nana apparently doesn't realize that a bike with training wheels is typically not designed for a grown woman.

I think the purple compliments my eyes, huh?

Roadtrip to Columbus

Mommy, Grandma, and I took a roadtrip to Columbus on the Saturday after Mommy's birthday because Mom was running in a half marathon that Sunday.
We had lots of fun before we even left the hotel...Grandma taught me how to unroll toilet paper...
...and I had plenty of room to drive my trucks.

Ahhhhh, I could get used to this. (Mom made me sleep in a crib later. :( )

On Sunday Mom woke up early, and Grandma and I got up later to see her run. We even got there in time to see her cross the finish line!

Mommy's Other Birthday Present

Mommy's birthday presents didn't stop at her play day with me. Daddy got Mommy a cool new camcorder, so she can take video longer than a few minutes, since she only had a point and shoot camera to take video before. It's super tiny, so it fits in her purse. She decided to get some practice using it with me as her subject. Something tells me that this definitely won't be the last time that happens.

Mommy's Birthday Present

Last Friday was Mommy's 29th birthday, and she decided to give herself a present by taking the day off and hanging out with me. Since it was a nice day, we decided to take advantage of the good weather and head to the zoo.
First we headed to the sharks. (Sorry the picture's so blurry. It was really dark, and I was moving too fast for Mom to get the camera settings right).
Then we made a quick trip to the forest to see the monkeys...
...and eat snacks, of course.

Next we visited the petting zoo area, where I had a stare off with this guy:

He won.

Then we made a brief stop at the playground before it got too crowded.

Before we left, I got take take my first ride on the choo choo train. Mom asked me to pick out my seat and I walked all the way to the front. I'm not scared of anything.

Although you might not believe me from the expression that I had on my face the entire time. Mom wasn't quite sure if I was enamored or petrified, but judging from the tantrum that I threw when the ride ended, she was sure that I loved it.

Before the train ride was over we got to see all of the giraffes. They were a lot bigger than the ones in my books!

Mom tried her best to sing at the top of her lungs to keep me awake on the way home (so I could sleep in my crib), but I was too pooped.

Working 9 to....9:45?

Last Friday Mommy took the day off to hang out with me on her birthday. Since we were going downtown, we decided to stop by her office, so everyone could see me. I hadn't been there since I was a few months old, so I was due for a visit. I was pretty shy for about 10 minutes, then I warmed up to everyone and was ready to go.
Mom tried to get many pictures, but I was way too fast for her.

Catch me if you can!!! (Obviously she didn't because I made my way into several offices and interrupted a couple of meetings. Of course they didn't mind because I'm so darn cute.)

Then Cathy made funny faces at me through the fuzzy glass in the conference room. This must be what Mom does during all of those meetings she goes to.

I was sad to leave everyone, especially Linda, the baby whisperer, but I promise I'll come back and visit soon.

Book Worm

As most of you know, reading is one of my favorite things to do. I've loved reading books with Mommy and Daddy since I was about 6 months old, but in the past few months I've begun reading on my own a lot. Last week Mom turned to put away some dishes, and when she turned back around this is what she found...

I'm becoming such a big boy!
