Copy Cat

I've recently taken to trying to copy everything other people do. I don't know why it's such a big deal, but everyone seems to get a kick out of it.

Visit to Nana and Poppy's house

Mom, Dad, and I headed to the Haute today to see my Nana and Poppy. They were very excited to see me because I haven't seen them in a few weeks.

Nana couldn't get over what a big boy I am.

I even got to see Mimi.

Dad and I hung out and watched some baseball (Cubbies, of course).

Nana and Poppy fed me my dinner. This highchair is the same one that Poppy and his brothers ate in when they were my age. Nana said it is over sixty years old. I can't count that high (in fact, I can't even count to one), but I know that's OLD.

Give it here Poppy. I've figured this spoon thing out.

Okay, maybe not.

Back from my blog break

Sorry I've been on a blogging hiatus over the past few weeks. I've got a lot to catch you up on. Yes, I'm still the cutest baby in the world (my mom made me write that), but other than that I've been on the move. Two weeks ago, I got to meet some new friends. First, mom and I met up with my new friend Zander and his mommy while they were in town visiting. Unfortunately, Zander and I didn't get much time to chat, since he's still a little guy and hung out in the carrier most of the time, and, of course, mom forgot to get a picture. However, she did manage to snap this cute one of me eating my book while we were waiting for them to arrive. It's okay that Zander and I didn't get to talk much because we'll have plently of time to get to know eachother when we're fellow campers at CYO camp in a few years.

Then, the next day, Mom, Dad, and I went to meet another new friend, Quinn Clauson. He was sleepy too (am I that boring?), but Mom did remember to get a pic this time. Mom and Dad couldn't get over how tiny he was, even though he weighed 1.5 pounds more than I did at the same age. It's amazing how quickly we forget things!

Last weekend we headed to Columbus for Mom's friend Amy's wedding reception. My Aunt Lindsay was my date (she's the cougar on the right). Mom told her she was lucky because she had the cutest date there. Everyone was very impressed with what a well-behaved (and adorable) baby I am. We had a good time, but I had to leave the party early to get in my pj's and hit the hay!

Like Father, Like Me

Nana told me that Dad used to cry between bites when he was a baby. I was like what a chump! I owe Dad an apology. I can see what he was talking about, this solid food is amazing. I just can't get it in my mouth fast enough.

Five Months Old!

I turned five months old on Sunday. Mom as usual tried (and failed) to capture the moment in photos. Here's what she ended up with before giving up:

Sleepover

Mom and Dad spent their first night away from me this Saturday when the went to Cinncinati for a baseball game, so I got to have a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's. I had a great time, but they missed me an awful lot.

Check out my new backpack (courtesy of Caroline, Chip, and Katie).
Disclaimer: No babies we harmed in the taking of this picture. The backpack was filled with baby clothes and weighed much less than it looks.

Hello Bob!

Mommy got a new BOB jogging stroller for her birthday. Before it arrived, she kept telling me that the BOB was coming soon. However, I didn't know that BOBs existed outside of the moustached attorney variety (those of you who frequent my cousin Caroline's blog will understand that reference), so I was very surprised when this is what arrived on my doorstep. So far I'm a fan of the BOB; however, I'll have to update you when I decide how I feel about jogging with mommy.

Long Trip Home

First, let me apologize for my extended blog absence. My mom, who assists me in blogging (my little digits just can't push down on the keys), left the camera cord in her laptop bag, which she then proceeded to take (and leave) at work. It finally returned this evening, so I have some catching up to do.

Okay, so after a nice relaxing vacation at the lake, Mom, Dad, and I had to head home last Wednesday. Only a few minutes into the trip, I made it very clear that I did not like being stuck in my car seat for any period of time. Thankfully, for their sake and mine, I got sleepy about 30 minutes into the trip. However, during all of my "awake" time, I proceeded to scream (except when we stopped so I could eat). So, in order to calm everyone's nerves, we decided to stop for a little R&R at the hillbilly mecca...Boot City.

Here I am outside of Boot City, just happy to be out of my car seat. Little did I know the magic that awaited me.

Before we left Mom and Dad had to get me a new pair of shoes (with puppies on them) and knit cowboy boots. Mom says that I have to own a red pair as soon as I can fit into them. Giddyup, piece of wood! Let's blow this joint!

Vaca at the Lake - Take Three

On day three of our family vaca, we headed over to Chip, Katie, and Caroline's house for some swimming and barbecue. Sounds like a good Labor Day to me.
Two babies primed and ready for some pool time.

I tried to tell Aunt Katie that I'm a pro at swimming (after all, this is my second time), but she wasn't going to let me go out on my own.

I tried out the floatie for a little while, but it's still just a bit big. Maybe next summer.

Instead, I preferred just hanging out with Mom.

After a long day, Caroline and I took a bath in the big tub. Don't we clean up well?

Vaca at the Lake - Day Two

Sunday marked day two of our family vaca. Chip, Katie, and Caroline came by again, and we all decided to head out on the lake for my first boat ride.

Poppy offered to let me borrow his hat, but I told him that even though I have a gigantic baby head it's still a bit big.

When we got to the boat I discovered that babies have to wear life jackets. The only one Nana and Poppy had in my size was in pink. It's a good think I'm secure in my manhood.
Okay Mom, it's getting hot out here. When are we going to hit the road (or the water)?
Much better! I loved feeling the breeze in the few hairs I have.

Cousin Caroline is a boating pro. She hangs out at the front.

I hung out in the back (and in the shade) with Mom and Dad.

Uncle Chip was our captain. Apparently, he's used to the Tennessee heat; he decided to wear a sweater vest under his shirt in the 90 degree heat.

Daddy, on the other hand, decided to wear a little less clothing. Really, Dad, that's way too much man for one boat.

After Dad's shenanigans, we decided that it was time to head back in and take naps.

A well-rested baby ready for a drive. Beep, beep, get out of my way!

Ahh, there's nothing like putting your feet up (or in your mouth) and relaxing on vacation.
