Times they are a changing

Over the past several months, I've been contemplating changing the blog.  While writing things from the perspective of a baby is certainly fun, there comes a time when that baby is suddenly three and carries on a conversation like a chatty 30 year old.  Which begs the question "should you be putting words in the mouth of a child who can put his own words together now?"  In my opinion, probably not.  With the big changes that are happening in the Kenworthy family, it's a perfect opportunity to make the change on the blog.  So, from now on, I (Jessica here) will be writing the blog from my perspective.  We're also changing the blog's name...Nolan's News is now Keeping Up With the Kenworthy's.  Yes, we sunk so low as to give our blog the namesake of the Kardashian's reality TV show.  But, really, would you expect much more from us?

And, for those of you who will miss hearing from Nolan, no worries.  He's so smart that he likely has started his own blog without the knowledge of Todd and I.  And, if not, just give him a few months.  This is the same kid who purchased apps from the App Store without my knowledge and taught me how to operate my iPhone.

Fourth of July

We went downtown to the Skyline Club to watch fireworks this year. We were up high enough that we could see the fireworks all over the city.

They had a lot of activities just for little guys like me. I was particularly impressed with the balloon animals.

So were the 50 other kids that were there. But I waited in line very patiently.

I decided to go with a blue octopus.

Very pleased with my decision.

Silly Grandma! That's not a hat!

They also came around every few minutes and distributed treats to the kids at each table, as evidenced by my necklace and ring pop.

And they had a dessert buffet. Can you tell I partook in some chocolate cake?

I got a front row seat for all the action. Thanks for the fun night Grandma and Grandpa!

Putt Putt

Mommy, Daddy and I decided to have a family day today. We started out the day with some putt-putt. Daddy thought I needed help, but I showed him that I'm a natural.

See Daddy, this is how it's done.

Both Mommy and Daddy gave it their best efforts, but I still came out on top. I managed to score a hole in one on every hole. Not bad for my first time.

Afterwards, we went to see Cars 2....it gets two thumbs up from this guy.

Slip and Slide!

My cousin, Caroline, got me a slip and slide for my birthday. I've been asking to use it, but really had no clue as to what it actually was. I just knew that the box had checkered flags on it, which equates to race cars, which equals fun.

We had to wait for a time when the weather was nice and Daddy was home to show me how to use it (Mommy trying to run and slide on her belly in her current state would not have ended well).

Well that time finally came, so we set it up in the back yard.

Daddy did the honors of breaking it in.
Can you tell how much that didn't hurt by the look on his face?!

His next run was a little more graceful.

I didn't quite get the same momentum as Daddy, so I had to crawl my way to the finish.
Daddy was nice enough to give me a boost the next time.
Wheeee!!!

Memorial Day Picnic

Mommy, Daddy, and I decided to take advantage of the nice weather and headed to the state park for a family picnic.

After some nice PB&J's we decided to do the Tour de Playground.

We walked to every playground in the park, and I checked out every slide. Mommy can remember when I was too scared to go down this twisty slide with her. Now I go down it all by myself.

Daddy caught Mommy off guard and snapped a picture of her gigantic belly. This is the only one she's allowed thus far, but she promises to take one before my sisters are here, so our blog followers can see it in all of its glory.

Happy Easter!

I woke up this morning to discover that the Easter Bunny had visited my house.

He brings some pretty cool loot.

After church we went over to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Apparently, the Easter Bunny is confused as to where I live because he made a visit there too!

After I opened my basket I went on an egg hunt around the house (it was too rainy to do it outside).

Grandma helped me find the eggs (I think she's pretty tight with the Easter Bunny because she seemed to know exactly where they all were).

Happy Easter everyone!!
